Availability depends on your ChatGPT plan and workspace. Full MCP capabilities are rolling out for Business, Enterprise, and Edu workspaces. Pro users may have more limited access in developer mode.

Before you start

  • A WhoisExtractor account
  • A ChatGPT workspace/plan that supports custom MCP apps

MCP Server URL

Use the same endpoint when connecting Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another compatible MCP client.

Setup instructions

    Check plan support

    Verify your ChatGPT plan/workspace supports custom MCP apps or developer mode.

    Open custom app settings

    In ChatGPT, open Settings and find Apps, Developer mode, or custom MCP app configuration.

  3. 3

    Create a custom MCP app

    Add a custom app and enter the WhoisExtractor MCP endpoint.

    Select OAuth

    Choose OAuth authentication when configuring the remote MCP server.

    Discover tools and authorize

    Scan tools, then sign in at whoisextractor.com/login and approve permissions on the consent screen.

    Enable in chat

    Enable the WhoisExtractor app in a chat and try a prompt.

Troubleshooting

Tools not appearing
Confirm the URL ends with /mcp and uses https://.
Write actions blocked
Your ChatGPT plan may restrict write tools; read tools may still work.
